Day 1 – Mike Webber

We were woken this morning by the sound of heavy tropical rain banging on our hotel roof. The combination of this, and the fact that our bodies thought it was lunchtime, meant that many of us were up pretty early. Some of the boys did some laps in the pool, while Liz took Nat and Chelsi through a vigorous poolside fitness session.

After group devotions, it was off to lunch at Camoe Camoe for some traditional Indonesian food. Many rounds of watermelon juice later (to try and sooth the burning sensation for those of us with ‘Aussie’ taste buds), it was back on the bus for another fight through the Jakarta traffic. Sometimes it feels like it would be quicker to walk places, or at least hire scooters and weave through the traffic like the crazy locals!

Tonight’s meetings were great. We started with some praise and worship (scaled down a little to suit the size of the PA) before I preached the first session, sharing the story of Planetshakers and encouraging people to let go of anything that would stop them from encountering all that God has for them. Rudy then preached the second session sharing about the power of the presence of God and inviting those who wanted to give God some radical praise to come down the front and let loose!

God has already started changing lives so powerfully, and we’re expecting that by the time the conference concludes tomorrow night, the roof is going to be struggling to stay on…

Day 2 – Mark Penny

Friday - off to an early start - 8.00am! Well not really that early. We head to Charismatic Worship Service church at Gedung Kenanga Where we had a full day of workshops and then dinner with the senior pastor - Ps Suwandoko.

Day started with devotions on the bus, by our very talented keys player - Scott Lim. A devotion to be remembered not only by what Scott said, but by the assistance of the bus driver with the devotion. The bus had a karaoke machine on it, so the driver thinking he could help, passed down the microphone to Scott. All of sudden as Scott talked into the mic, it was "I I I I I want want want want you you you you to to to to turn turn turn turn to to to to to Acts Acts Acts Acts 20 20 20 20". After laughing quite hard we did away with the microphone and echo and went to Acts 20.

Had a great day imparting the gift God has given and entrusted to us, to many other fellow worshippers. All the guys broke away to discuss individual instruments and then coming together as team to talk through practical and spiritual dynamics of worship.

REGARDING FOOD - Not so adventurous today - went McDonald's for lunch and Chili's (USA Franchise Restaurant) for dinner. We did though taste the best pork satay we have every had - AMAZING!!

Day 3 - Joth Hunt

This is the first Planetshakers concert of this tour. The day started with devotions, then a sound check. Man it’s hot here in Jakarta. It’s a crazy place. Lots of people and even more motorbikes!

My Journal for today reads:
“I’m believing that tonight will be a turning point for Christians in Jakarta. That God’s power would be poured out in amazing way. That people would get revelation of who God is and who they are called to be. I’m believing that tonight won’t be a night of the natural, but a night of the supernatural. Whatever that looks like, whatever that sounds like, we want it Lord! Move like we have never seen.”

And what a great night we had! We saw the people of Jakarta come together to worship our awesome God and experience his glorious power. Rudy preached a short but powerful message about how we need to follow Jesus. The one who is full of life. All in all, a great day. Cant wait for tomorrow.

Day 4 - Liz Webber

When we’re on tour it’s important that we keep our bodies as fit as possible… This morning Nat, Chelsi and I spent an hour sweating it out at the gym in the Indonesian humidity. Meanwhile, the boys were upstairs sleeping, except for Mike who was feeling the affects of some dodgy food he ate yesterday!

After some lunch it was off to the venue for sound check for tonight’s meeting. It was a little different than usual in the absence of our drummer, but Joth did his best to set up and sound check the drums for Mike who was still not feeling well back at the hotel.

As we prayed together in preparation for tonight’s meeting we became aware that it was no coincidence that Mike’s health was being challenged. In our devotions together on the first day of tour, he had shared with us the importance of drawing our strength from doing the work of God rather than ‘bread alone’. This was now being challenged, so we joined our faith together and believed for total healing, and a powerful night.

As usual, God came through for us and we had a fantastic night joining with the people of Bandung to worship our incredible God.

Day 5 - Nat Carger

Monday morning in Jakarta started off in a relaxing way. First we had breakfast Indonesian style, then packed our things and headed to the mall to wait for our bus to take us to Bandung.

Leaving around lunch time our 3 hour journey stretched out to 5 as we hit Bandung traffic along the freeway. As we drove, beautiful scenery surrounded us. Rice paddies, stunning green fields and enormous mountains stretched before us to engage our attention during the long trip. Inside the bus our journey consisted of lots of eating, talking about eating, games and laughing till finally we arrived late afternoon.

Once we reached Bandung we checked in to our hotel, relaxed for a bit and then decided to visit the outlet shops in search of some major bargains.

After we shopped till we dropped it was dinner time so we went out for dinner to a European/Indonesian restaurant. Steaks and chicken were on the menu and we all ate to our hearts content.

All in all, a fun day was had by everyone as we enjoyed our trip from Jakarta to Bandung and prepared to play the next day for the city of Bandung.
